Download a Hardware Diagnostic Tool for Windows

Knowing a configuration, reading a temperature and testing stability are three different operations. A diagnostic tool can bring them together, but the results are not interpreted in the same way. This subcategory of utilities brings together the AIDA64 editions available in the catalog for Windows. You can choose according to your work: examine your computer, work with a customer or inventory an organization's machines. The proximity of the names does not make the licenses and functions identical. Start by defining the question to be solved, then see if you need hardware details, load testing, or report collection.

4 programs

AIDA64 Extreme is intended for personal PC analysis. Hardware information, sensors and tests help document your configuration. The product remains commercial and does not constitute a complete fleet management system.

AIDA64 Engineer

AIDA64 Engineer brings together hardware identification, measurements and testing for Windows technicians.

Utilities · Windows · 57.51 MB (Windows EXE)
8.40

AIDA64 Engineer is suitable for technicians who examine workstations and servers. It combines identification, measurements and tests. Check the license rights when your interventions concern several clients or machines that do not belong to you.

AIDA64 Business

AIDA64 Business inventories PCs and brings together diagnostics, change tracking and remote administration.

Utilities · Windows · 59.17 MB (Windows EXE)
8.40

AIDA64 Business combines inventory and diagnostics with remote functions for organizations. Its interest also depends on the configuration of the network and access. The presence of the software does not guarantee that a workstation will always be reachable.

AIDA64 Network Audit is used to collect inventories and compare changes. It is suitable for tracking hardware and software in an organization. This edition should not be chosen for the benchmarking features available in other AIDA64 editions.

Read a configuration before modifying it

Hardware information helps to identify the processor, motherboard, memory, and storage. You can save these details before component replacement or technical intervention. However, a detected reference is not enough to confirm the compatibility of a new part: also consult the manufacturer's specifications. To track an issue, add the date and a description of the symptom to the report. Two computers that look the same may use different components or drivers. This record makes it possible to compare the situation before and after a modification, without depending solely on the memories of the person who intervenes.

Distinguish sensors from load tests

A sensor gives a measurement accessible on the hardware, such as temperature or fan speed. A benchmark measures a specific operation. A stability test applies a load to observe behavior. The Extreme, Engineer and Business editions offer these tools according to their scope. Network Audit focuses on inventory and tracking changes; it does not include the benchmarking features of the other editions. Prepare for tests that use components: save open work, note settings, and observe results under comparable conditions. An isolated score does not automatically indicate a failure.

Choose for one PC or an entire computer fleet

AIDA64 Extreme is designed to examine a personal PC. AIDA64 Engineer is aimed at professional technical interventions. For an organization, AIDA64 Network Audit collects information from computers and compares reports over time. AIDA64 Business notably adds remote monitoring and control functions. First choose what you need to organize, then check the license rights. Producing a local report does not yet constitute a method of inventorying an entire network. It is also necessary to identify the workstations, plan the storage location of the data and identify the machines which have not responded to the collection.

Compare observations to actual needs

The requirements of the diagnostic tool and those of the problem application are separate. A machine can open a report without being able to comfortably perform a demanding task. Use the information collected to understand the components present, then relate them to the requirements published by the software in question. The choose software according to PC resources selection explains this approach for more modest uses. It does not transform a benchmark into an automatic recommendation. The AIDA64 editions presented are commercial, with a trial. Before purchasing, confirm that the chosen edition covers your context and that the necessary functions are available for your hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Does a missing temperature indicate a fault?

No. Not all hardware, firmware, and drivers expose the same sensors. A missing value may simply not be accessible to the software. Check the component documentation and compare the available measurements before concluding a hardware defect.

Can Network Audit replace Extreme for benchmarks?

No. Network Audit is dedicated to fleet inventory and changes. For performance metrics and stability testing, look at Extreme, Engineer, or Business depending on your context. The presence of hardware information in multiple editions does not make their test functions identical.

Should I record the conditions of a test?

Yes. Background activity, power settings, settings and temperature may affect the result. Note the version used and the components under load. A comparison becomes more useful when you can repeat the same operation and distinguish configuration changes from other variations.
